AMCHAM T&T Reflects On Work Of Former U.S. Ambassador To T&T Joseph Mondello Following His Death

The American Chamber of Trinidad and Tobago has said former Joseph Mondello to this country, Joseph Mondello’s contributions to the organisation helped strengthen its ties to the U.S. Embassy and the U.S. government.

It said this was done through many positive and beneficial engagements.

In a media release on Wednesday, Amcham T&T said this was done in areas such as national security and peacekeeping issues, trade and investment opportunities, and access to influential U.S. policymakers, business leaders and U.S. based companies/firms.

The release said Ambassador Mondello was very open, accessible, and down-to-earth in his dealings with the Organisation.

Adding that he served his government at a difficult time in T&T-US relations.

However, he always sought to build bridges and conducted himself in a gentle and dignified manner.

Amcham T&T said as Ambassador, Mr. Mondello’s coordination of the USNS Comfort mission to Trinidad and Tobago in 2019 provided free medical coverage for over 7,000 patients, 90 percent of whom were T&T nationals, including 119 surgeries.
