Alvin Jones shines as T&T beat Guatemala 1-0 in friendly encounter

Alvin Jones gave Trinidad and Tobago just what it wanted – a 1-0 win over Guatemala in their international friendly at Subaru Park, Philadelphia on Sunday.

The match was their final warm-up before the Concacaf Gold Cup qualifiers.

Jones scored the winner via a 53rd minute penalty.

It was the 28-year-old defender’s second international goal of his career.

The Soca Warriors, who are coached by Angus Eve, are now unbeaten in their six matches in 2023.

Trinidad and Tobago will face Guadeloupe on June 16 in Fort Lauderdale in the opening round of the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup Qualifiers.
