Trinidad and Tobago’s Miss World Pageant representative Aché Abrahams represented her country extremely well at the event in Mumbai, India, securing a spot in the top four and claiming the Miss World Americas and the Caribbean title.
The very popular delegate captured the hearts of Trinibagonians from the very start of her reign as Miss T&T and amassed huge support in T&T and across the Caribbean. Krystyna Pyszkova of the Czech Republic was announced as the Miss World 2024 out of the 112 contestants.
The Miss World Organisation had previously announced a major change in the competition’s format. While most pageants announce a top five or top three in the final round, the Miss World Organisation noted that for 2024 it would only have a top two—the winner and runner-up.
The Miss World competition also added another change in format where contestants were picked from four regions: Asia/Oceania, Africa, Europe, and the Americas. Brazil and Trinidad and Tobago represented the Americas and were asked: “According to you, what is the most pressing issue working women face, and why?”
Abrahams’ poised response focused on women not being given enough opportunities.
She said: “I have to say, sometimes, it is not a lack of talent or skills, it is a lot of opportunities. So I am so grateful for Miss World because you are allowing me this platform to follow my dreams,” Abrahams said. She also encouraged boys and girls to know that their voices were just as powerful as everyone else’s and reminded them to believe in themselves.
With her top four placing and capturing the prize for the Miss World Americas and the Caribbean title Abrahams now has commitments to the Miss World organization during the next year which she says she’s looking forward to with great anticipation.
At the end of the show Abrahams took to Instagram soon after her performance to thank her fans: “I am so excited to travel with the Miss World team. I hope by now you know we won the continental title of Miss World Americas and Caribbean. So I’m looking forward to working with the team for the next year, and of course, Mrs (Julia) Morley and supporting our new Miss World, Czech Republic. Thank you so much for your support from day one till’ the end. And I love you. I love you. I love you.
