8 homeless following Vega de Oropouche fire

Eight people have been left homeless following a fire which destroyed their Vega de Oropouche, Toco Main Road home on Saturday.

Around 3:30am, a loud explosion was heard and the house, belonging to the Seemungal family at Pharry Village was seen on fire.

A straightening and painting garage located at the house was also destroyed and vehicles damaged.

Fire officials from Sangre Grande responded, but by the time they arrived the house was completely destroy.
However, they were to stop the fire from spreading to nearby houses.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and damage is estimated at $100,000.
