Over 300 TnT nationals who are crew members aboard the Royal Caribbean cruise ship ‘Vision of the Sea’ are asking T&T authorities to please guide them as to what the plans are for their repatriation. This in light of announcements by the Ministry of National Security that T & T nationals onboard ships for the past two months, will finally be allowed to return home. The Ministry announced this past weekend that six crew would have been back on home soil on Saturday 23rd May, with another 53 expected on Monday 25th May. While they are appreciative of this move by the GoTT, they themselves are unsure of the next steps since they have not been contacted, and information from their ship is also that no contact has yet been made:
They also want the information and process expedited since the ship is presently docked off Grenadian waters , and heading to St Lucia, and St Vincent. They understand if the T&T authorities don’t make contact soon, the ship may be headed back to Miami which would dash their hopes of an early return home. They are all willing to submit to all of T&T public health protocols. One of the crew members who wished to remain anonymous sent these pictures and voice notes to IzzSo media early Sunday morning, hoping we could get word to the Trinidad & Tobago authorities:
The group said that the past months have been physically and emotionally draining and at this point they just want to come home.
