Investigations are now underway into two separate murders.
In the latest, a 31-year-old man of Oropouche Road, was ambushed and shot while returning from wake early on Saturday morning.
The victim has been identified as Christopher Williams.
Reports state that Williams had left the wake around 3:45am and was walking along a track when villagers heard several loud explosions. They subsequently made checks where they found the deceased in the yard bleeding from injuries.
Williams was rushed to the Sangre Grande Hospital but died while undergoing emergency surgery.
Meanwhile, 20-year-old Jeremiah Antoine was gunned down in Rich Plain Diego Martin on Friday night.
Around 8:15 residents of Unity Road heard several loud explosions and then saw the victim laying along the roadway suffering from several gunshot wounds.
He was taken to the St James Medical Facility but the died whilst undergoing emergency treatment at the medical facility.
