A 27-year-old man was granted bail in the sum of $10,000 with a surety when he appeared virtually before Magistrate Erica Baptiste-Ramkissoon at the Scarborough Magistrates’ Court, on Monday 25th April, 2022, charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The man who was also ordered to have no communication with the victim is expected to reappear at the Scarborough Magistrates’ Court on 23rd May, 2022.
According to a police report, on Saturday 12th February, 2022, a woman was at her home with a man when an argument ensued.
The man became annoyed then allegedly grabbed the woman’s t-shirt and dealt her several blows to her stomach.
WPC Kerr of the Gender-Based Violence Unit conducted an investigation into the report, which led to the arrest of a suspect, who was charged on Monday 25th April.
