Young disappointed by Opposition no-show in Parliament

National Security Minister, Stuart Young, says he is disappointed with the Opposition’s no show in the House of Representatives for a second straight time today.

Last week Friday the Opposition stayed away from the Lower Chamber.

At a news briefing Opposition Leader, KamlaPersad Bissessar, cited concerns over COVID-19 following the Prime Minister’s recently testing positive for the virus.

On Tuesday at a news briefing, Opposition Senator, Wade Mark, in response to a question from a reporter on when the opposition will return to the parliament said they will like the entire parliament building sanitized.

However, while piloting the motion approve the notification of the nomination of Ms Bliss Seepersad as member of the Police Service Commission, Minister Young expressed his sadness over the Opposition’s no show in parliament.


Meanwhile, Minister Young provided details on the qualifications of
Ms Seepersad.

Minister Young said the government is giving its support to Ms Seepersad to be returned as a PSC member.
