A woman and her baby were kicked out of their Mamoral home by two men on Friday evening and then had to watch as it was set on fire.
Police are now searching for the suspects.
Reports indicate that around 6:30pm yesterday, the 39-year-old victim, identified as Crystal Villafana was at home with her 13-month old baby when two men entered, one was armed with a shotgun. Both men wore ski masks and dark-coloured clothing.
They allegedly told her to take her 13-month-old baby and leave the house. She told police one of the men had a bottle of gas in his hand. He then set the on fire.
The mother was able to escape safely. She ran to a neighbour’s house to call the authorities. Fire officers attached to the Chaguanas Fire Station arrived and extinguished the blaze. The two-story, one-bedroom, wooden home, was completely destroyed. No motive was given for the attack.
