A trip to the Flowerpot Beach in Marabella on Sunday turned into a tragedy for friends and family of 39-year-old Avinash Ramjattan, who is believed to have drowned while swimming.
Ramjattan of Garth Road in Williamsville, was said to be with a group of friends at the beach around 3:45pm when he went into the waters to take a swim.
A few minutes later, Ramjattan’s body was observed floating face down in the sea.
His friends pulled him out of the waters, however, all attempts to resuscitate him proved futile.
The police and emergency health services were notified, however, Ramjattan was pronounced dead on the scene.
