West Indies Win ODI Home Series Against England 2-1, T20 Series Starts Tuesday In Barbados

West Indies cricketers defeated England by four wickets on the Duckworth Lewis system in the third one day international at Kensington Oval Barbados to secure a 2-1 series win in the three match 50 overs series on Saturday.

1998 was the last time the Caribbean side defeated England in an ODI home series.

The match was affected by rain and was reduced to 43 overs.

Batting first England made 209 for 9 from 40 overs.

Ben Duckett led the way with 71 runs.

Playing on debut in front of his home crowd, Matthew Forde,  had 3 wickets for 29 runs from 8 overs.

Vice-Captain, Alzarri Joseph, also provided support with figures of 3 for 61 from 8 overs.

Chasing a revised total , West Indies , reached 191 for 6 from 31.4 overs.

Keacy Carty top scored with 50 runs, Alick Athanaze 45 and Romario Shepperd 41 not out.

The focus will now turn to the five match T20 series beginning on Tuesday in Barbados from 6pm.

This will be followed by two matches  in Grenada on Thursday and Saturday at the National Cricket Stadium, St Georges from 1;30pm.

Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba will host the final two matches  next week Tuesday and Thursday from 4pm.
