WASA Addressing Sewer Issue Along Royal Palm Avenue, Victoria Gardens

The Water and Sewerage Authority assures  residents of Victoria Gardens, Diego Martin, of its commitment towards addressing, in the shortest possible time, the sewer issue impacting some residents of the area.

The issue involves a collapsed portion of the Authority’s 8-inch diameter sewer collection pipeline, along Royal Palm Avenue, Victoria Gardens.

The pipeline runs at a depth of approximately 12 feet and the point of the collapsed is located in on the property of one of the residents, which has affected the Authority’s ability to carry out immediate repairs.

In view of this situation, the Authority has devised a plan to re-route a segment of the pipeline, which also involves accessing and engaging in works on private property.

The Authority is working to complete all the necessary steps to get the required approvals, and expects to secure the services of a contractor to commence these works by next week.

The Authority understands the difficulties being experienced by some residents due to this situation, as such, pumping down measures will continue to be undertaken on an ongoing basis, in order to prevent or minimize overflows in the area, as well as any inconvenience to residents.
