Carifesta XIV off to a good start; online comments suggests Dimanche Gras organizers should take heed

Carifesta XIV kicked off with a bang on Saturday for the Opening Ceremony at the Queen’s Park Savannah. 

Patrons were treated to a number of dance solos and full on choreography pieces, a display of the steel pan on stage, live Soca performances by T&T’s finest and features from our neighbouring countries.

Patrons were also treated to a flash back of music by of The Lord Kitchener.

Meanwhile those who visited the Queen’s Park Savannah were treated to concerts which were intended to create an essential platform to celebrate music from the Dutch, English, French and Spanish speaking Caribbean.

These unique events will be designed to capture this diverse and vibrant community of artistes and all genres of music.

Country Night will feature the Cayman Islands, Anguilla, Montserrat and Jamaica from 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm and you can also catch Live Music District from 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm on Ariapita Avenue.

Persons enjoyed Carifesta’s opening so much that some were inclined to point fingers at Dimanche Gras organizers, requesting that they take heed in an effort to boost the locally produced show for Carnival.
