Warner Construction considering Legal action after Farley Augustine presser allegations

Keon Warner , son of Tobago businessman Allan Warner said the company is considering it’s legal options following THA Chief Secretary Farley Augustine’s press briefing on Friday. A meeting was held by company officials, to discuss possible legal action against Augustine and Warner said he was : “going all the way with this” matter.

On Friday THA Chief Secretary Farley Augustine alleged , that one of the company’s officials, with close links to the PNM, was responsible for the leaked audio recording of a discussion between THA officials about a propaganda campaign at a closed-door strategy meeting about a year ago, in an attempt at extortion.  Augustine alleged the contractor had threatened to release the audio recording if the THA did not clear up its outstanding debt, worth tens of millions of dollars, for work undertaken within the past few years. Augustine said the THA has already paid the contractor a significant sum of money.

Warner admitted that Warner Construction and Sanitation Ltd (WCSL) made a verbal request for $60 million from Chief Secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) Farley Augustine for outstanding payments from construction projects. He  also admitted their company had been facing financial issues, and they made the request for the millions owed through Augustine, who, on his own accord, went to the Central Government for help.
