Police arrested four persons for various offences and seized a quantity of marijuana yesterday, 17th November 2023, when officers of the Port-of-Spain Divisional Task Force conducted an anti-crime exercise in the Port of Spain district.
Around 6:30 pm PC Huggins and a party of officers arrested one man, 33, of Homeland Gardens, Cunupia on enquiries into reports of shootings in the Belmont Station district.
While around 8:00 pm whilst proceeding along Main Street, Beetham Gardens, PC Perez had cause to arrest a man, 31, of Phase 5 Beetham Gardens for Obscene Language, Resisting Arrest, and Obstructing a Police Officer. While PC Remy arrested a woman for the offence of Obscene Language. PC Huggins also arrested a 27-year-old man from 8th Street Beetham Gardens for selling alcoholic drinks without a license.
The party of officers also proceeded to a bushy area along Main Street, where they found and seized 1.5 kilograms of marijuana.
The exercise was coordinated by ACP Winston Maraj and Snr Supt Ali Mohammed and spearheaded by Supt Ettienne and ASP Ali. With field supervision by Sgt Alexander and Cpl Sookhoo, and included PCs Huggins, Halls, Bristol, Aguillera, Ralph, Boucaud, Nunes, Abdul Latif, Nunes, Khamchan, Remy, Perez, George, Felix and WPC Payne and WPC Rose.
