Ongoing bilateral initiatives between the United States and local law enforcement agencies on security and defence matters are discussed during a recent meeting Minister of National Security, Fitzgerald Hinds, held with Ambassador of the United States of America to Trinidad and Tobago, Her Excelleny Candace Bond.
Officials of the Ministry of National Security and the US Embassy were also part of the discussions which took place at the Ministry of National Security’s Head Office, Abercromby Street, Port of Spain.
The meeting was described as cordial and successful, with Minister Hinds and Ambassador Bond committing to deepening the security cooperation partnership between Trinidad and Tobago and the United States of America.
The Minister expressed his deep appreciation to Ambassador Bond for her ongoing dedication to working with Trinidad and Tobago to counter the negative impacts of transnational organized crime, particularly trafficking in persons, firearms trafficking, and narcotics trafficking.
