A man was shot and wounded in the heart of Port of Spain on a busy Friday night.
Reports are that gunshots rang out just before 8pm, in the vicinity of the Lucky Bakery on the corner of Independence Square and Charlotte Street.
When all was clear, eyewitness saw a man of African descent, lying on the ground.
The man was described as being muscular, with a stocky build. He is estimated to be in his thirties. He wore a white jersey with a red bandana around his neck.
Investigations are ongoing.
Update:
The victim has since been identified as Duane Reid, also known as “Guana man” of La Seiva Road, Maraval.
