UNHCR rep among 2 robbed in Curepe

Police are on the hunt for four bandits who robbed a business executive and a senior official with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), while they drove through Curepe on Sunday night.

The 38-year-old man and the 43-year-old woman were travelling in a silver Hyundai Tucson on Frederick Street, Curepe, at around 8.50 pm when a white Nissan Tiida that was driving in front of them stopped, blocking their path.

Four masked men got out of the Tiida, two of which had guns and ordered them out of the car. The bandits stole two cellphones, cash and a handbag, before driving off in their Tucson, followed by the Tiida.

The Tucson was found abandoned on Bamboo Drive, Champs Fleurs.
