UNC Wants WASA’s Business Plan Brought To Parliament

The Opposition is asking government to present the business plan for WASA before parliament.

It claims the plan will affect more than 5,000 workers and investment in the utility of over 1.4 billion dollars in capital infrastructure.

Member of Parliament for Princes Town, Barry Padarath, made the request Wednesday contending the population should be informed of future plans for the utility.

MP Padarath said the nation should also be told how the restructuring of WASA will impact the job security of workers as well as the debt situation facing the state enterprise.

Mr Padarath also called for certain consideration to be taken into account pertaining to a rate review for WASA.
