The government is forecasting it will collect over 675 million dollar from the tax amnesty.
Minister of Finance, Colm Imbert, while piloting the Finance Bill in the parliament Friday said the 2010\2011 tax amnesty collected over 1 billion dollars.
In 2014\2015, over 2 billion dollars was collected.
Minister Imbert added that in 2016 the venture brought the government 766 million dollars while in 2019 the amount was in the vicinity of over one billion dollars.
The Finance Minister said over thirty thousand tax payers are expected to benefit from the initiative.
