Citizens in Toronto, Canada can now access marijuana through Uber Eats.
Starting today, Uber Eats will be delivering marijuana right to your house – the company’s partnership with online marijuana retailer Leafly, connects the customer with dozens of local dispensaries in Toronto.
Buying weed is no different than buying food from the app, but it’s still a groundbreaking move by Uber Eats considering it’s the first time marijuana delivery has been made available on a food ordering platform.
The partnership hopes to tackle the underground marijuana business amid the growing rise of laced weed being sold to people, which has resulted in countless overdoses in the U.S. in recent years.
