Two relatives hospitalised following violent encounter

An argument between two relatives in Maraval has left both men in a critical condition.

The incident took place around 7:30pm at a home along Upper Faustin Trace.

The individuals, aged 22 and 46, reportedly got into an argument at the home which became physical.

Reports state The 46-year-old allegedly grabbed a cutlass and chopped the 22-year-old to the left side of his face.

The 46-year-old then fell onto an exposed piece of metal which is attached to some burglarproofing, which punctured his left torso.

The police and paramedics were notified, and the injured men were taken to the Port of Spain General Hospital.
