Two men charged for breaching Curfew – cocaine seized

Two men were charged with possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine, and the breach of curfew regulations after police
conducted a curfew enforcement exercise in Cocorite last night.
Around 10pm on Monday 17th May, 2021, while on mobile patrol at Powder Magazine, Phase 2, Cocorite, officers observed two men
standing next to a white Nissan Tiida vehicle, with the doors opened. The two men ran off when they saw the police officers.
Police conducted a search of the compound, and a short while later the officers found the two men, who were hiding beneath a staircase.
Officers conducted a search of the vehicle, during which they allegedly found 257 grammes of marijuana, wrapped in plastic wrapping and nine grammes of cocaine, contained in plastic packets. BRANDON SHOCKNESS, of Diego Martin, and ISAIAH PRITCHARD of Powder Magazine, Phase 2 and also of Calvary Hill, Arima, were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine, and breach of curfew.
The exercise was supervised by Snr Supt Kelvern Thompson, coordinated by Supt Henry and ASP Baird, conducted by Insp Reyes and Ag/Sgt Carmona and officers of the Western Division Task Force comprising of PC Gilkes, PC Rogers and PC Peltier.
