Two men were arrested for being in possession of a firearm and ammunition after police intercepted a vehicle in Point Fortin yesterday.
Acting on information received, Ag /Cpl Carter, PC Joseph and officers of the Point Fortin CID, stopped a silver Mitsubishi Lancer vehicle which was proceeding along Southern Gardens Road, Point Fortin.
The officers approached the vehicle and observed the two male occupants who were known to them. The officers then conducted a search of the vehicle, where a revolver and two .38 special rounds of ammunition were found and seized.
Enquiries are continuing.
