TTPS To Review How Its Police Tribunal Operates

There are plans to tighten systems and provisions under which the Tribunal now in place to probe rogue police officers who are brought before it for various disciplinary actions.

Acting Commissioner of Police, Mc Donald Jacob, said the aim is to broaden the scope under which the Tribunal operates.

The Acting Commissioner of Police said this is to cater for more infractions which corrupt officers may commit.

Mr Jacob made the comments while speaking on Power 102’s Power Breakfast Show on Monday.

Mr Jacob said closer attention will be placed on having a detailed track record of police officers who have engaged in illegal activities.

Mediation is another aspect the TTPS is planning to pursue Mr Jacob indicated adding there are some times when such an approach can be pursued and can end in improved relations among officers.
