TT Economy Grows By 3.0 Percent In 2023 First Quarter

The Trinidad and Tobago economy grew by 3.0% in the first quarter of 2023 when compared with the first quarter 2022.

This is compared with a 4.0% decline recorded in first quarter 2023 over the fourth quarter 2022.

This information is revealed by the Central Statistical Office in its release of the Annual Gross Domestic Product for 2022 and Quarterly Gross Domestic Product for first quarter 2023.

CSO the main industries contributing to the 3.0% expansion in the domestic economy in the first quarter of 2023 were Mining and quarrying 2.6%; Manufacturing 1.6%; Trade and repairs 10.9%; Transport and storage 16.7% and Accommodation and food services 17.5%.
