A push for improved wages for public servants must be in line with increased productivity.
This is the approach the labor movement is insisting will be adopted as it pushes for better conditions for the working class.
The movement is also in support of the empowerment of workers where possible making them able to generate wealth on their own instead of depending on the state.
These points were made public by President General of the Seamen and Waterfront Workers Trade Union, Michael Annisette.
Mr Annisette was at the time being interviewed on the Power Breakfast Show on Power 102 Digital on Thursday.
Mr Annisette said he is in support of arrangements where the trade union movement collaborates with private enterprise in business endeavors which can result in benefits for shareholders for workers.
