Tobagoians Cautioned To Brace For Possible Increase In Cost Of Cement

Tobagonians are being warned there could be an increase in the cost of cement on the island due to demand and supply issues.

Vice Chairman of the Tobago Division of the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Demi John Cruickshank, said challenges in sea transportation between Port of Spain and Scarborough have brought about serious implications.

Speaking during a news briefing on Wednesday, Mr.  John Cruickshank revealed an increase in cost to transport the product at this time since the Cabo Star has been out of service for the past three weeks.

He warned this additional cost to get the commodity to Tobago from the supplier in Trinidad could be passed on to the consumer.
