DCP McDonald Jacob says retrenchment in TTPS cost cutting exercise and nothing to do with Griffith

Roughly 20 persons have been fired by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS).
Reports state that those retrenched were corporate communications personnel Francis Joseph, Lisa Ghany and Adrian Don Mora.
The trio was among a group of 10 people who were identified as allegedly receiving salaries between $18,000 and $42,600 from the TTPS.

Deputy Police Commissioner McDonald Jacob however said that the retrenchment was a result of “budget cuts” to help the TTPS run more smoothly. However, others have argued that they targeted several persons hired by former Commissioner of Police Gary Griffith during his tenure.
