TKR aiming to make CPL T-20 history

Trinbago Knight Riders are on the road to defending their CPL T-20 title as they face the St Lucia Kings at 10AM today.

TKR became the first and only team to achieve that feat in 2018 and the players are now just 2 wins away from doing it for a 2nd time.

TKR is already leading the way having won 4 titles (1 of which they won while they were named T&T Red Steel before being rebranded)

The Kings meanwhile continue on the hunt for their maiden CPL title but may have to do so without the injured Faf du Plessis.

Both teams claimed a win each when the sides met in the group stage but its TKR who seem to be on the right trend having won five of their last seven games including their final game going into the semis.

The Kings meanwhile come into today’s match on the back of a crushing defeat against Barbados Royals on Sunday which gave them their 3rd “L” in 5 games.

Kings will depend on their batting have outscored the Knight Riders on boundaries with 123 fours and 72 sixes, while TKR will depend heavily on their bowling lineup having been the most economical team going at 8.73 runs per over with Ravi Rampaul tied for the most wickets in the tournament (18).
