The world’s most expensive ice cream – TT$45k per serving

Today’s odd news is for the foodies…A Japanese Ice Cream Company has earned the record for the world’s most expensive ice cream with a price of almost US$6,700 or TT$45,450 a serving.

Japanese brand Cellato has revealed a new flavour which consists of some of the rarest ingredients in the world.

The ingredients in the flavour, named Byakuya, include a rare white truffle grown in Italy, that costs about US$6,905 per pound.

It also includes aged parmesan cheese and the paste-like sediment collected after brewing the Japanese rice wine “Sake”.

This isn’t the first food to cost a ridiculous price based on its ingredients.

The Drury Beer Garden in Philadelphia, has a TT $4700 burger covered in edible gold.

The 8 ounce burger is created using Wagyu meat with caviar, fresh black truffle, lobster flambeed with cognac, topped with aged Irish cheddar and drizzled with honey.

Customers also get fries along with 1-ounce sip of Louis XIII Cognac, which costs around US$5,000 a bottle.

The burger does not include the service charge which tops out at 20 percent of the bill.
