Teen shot and wounded in Phase 4, La Horquetta

A 16-year-old boy was shot and wounded in Phase 4, La Horquetta on Wednesday 29th November.

The La Horquetta teen was standing on the corner of Lystra Lewis Street, Phase Four, around 12:30 pm, when a Nissan Almera drove next to him and the occupants opened fire on the teen several times.

They then drove off.

The boy managed to run home, and his father took him to the Arima hospital in his maxi taxi.

The boy was treated for several gunshots to his lower back and transferred to another hospital.

He is warded in a stable condition.

Officers of the Northern Division Emergency Response Patrol were called in and found the getaway car abandoned nearby.

Investigators found six spent 9-millimetre shells at the scene.
