PM calls on citizens to have faith in our country

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley, is urging citizens to keep their faith strong, regardless of their denominations and teachings.

He made the plea on Sunday at the Diplomatic Centre in St Ann’s, Port-of- Spain, during the National Service of Reflection and Thanksgiving.

Rowley said: “Without faith, we are lost. We have to have faith in ourselves, faith in our neighbours, faith in our teachers, faith in our doctors, faith in our leaders, faith in our country, as we have faith in our gods.”

He said it was interesting to note that all the religious leaders that spoke during the event, they all went to their religious books in times of need, as he also did.

Rowley added: “We are experiencing hopefully, but not certainly the end of the pandemic…It has been with us for years, it has punched us like a hit in the solar plexus, it has burnt up our savings, it has taken some of our loved ones.”
