The changes in Local Government are needed to check the unfettered power previously bestowed upon Regional Corporation CEOs.
This is the view of St Joseph MP Terrence Deyalsingh.
Deyalsingh, who is also the Health Minister, made the comment while speaking on Power 102 Digital Power Breakfast Show this morning.
He revealed that Regional Corporation CEO’s had the ability to delay or put a stop to projects which sometimes led to Central Government and the Members of Parliament receiving the blame.
Mr Deyalsingh suggested that that arrangement was untenable hence the changes proposed in Local Government reform.
