A significant amount of work is underway relating to design approvals, procurement and construction works for the Solar Farm located in Piarco.
The government says as of November 2022, all of the prerequisite activities regarding the project were 100% complete.
Procurement works were 48% complete and construction work 30% complete.
Minister of Planning and Development, Pennelope Beckles, is hopeful that this solar farm at the Piarco International Airport serves as inspiration to the wider public and private sectors on the potential of Solar and Renewable Energy, as we do our part for a better planet for all of us.
In a media release Tuesday, Minister Beckles said the Piarco Solar Park is collaboration between the Government of Trinidad and Tobago, the European Union’s Global Climate Change Alliance Plus and the United Nations Development Programme.
