Media reports say the ruling Socialist Party Venezuela’s President, Nicolas Maduro, will run for a second re-election to secure another six-year term in voting planned for July 28th.
Recent polls show 13.9% of Venezuelans plan to vote for Maduro.
Opposition candidate Maria Corina Machado’s has 54.5%.
March 25th is the timeline set for candidates to register.
In October last year Machado won an opposition primary.
However, Venezuela’s top court upheld a ban barring her from holding public office.
