Social Development And National Security Ministers Meet On MOU

The aim is to finalize arrangements so a Memorandum of Understanding is developed and implemented in the shortest possible time.

This is want both the Ministry of National Security and the Ministry of Social Development and Family Services are interested in achieving.

On Thursday a meeting between officials from both sides  discussed arrangements to facilitate the seamless transmission of travel information and verification with respect to citizens and residents of Trinidad and Tobago applying for the Ministry’s Senior Citizens’ and other social assistance grants offered by the Ministry.

They are namely the Public Assistance Grant, Disability Assistance Grant and the Disability Assistance Grant for Minors.

Minister of Social Development and Family Services, Donna Cox, told those in attendance the meeting is indeed timely as the Ministry is seeking to improve efficiency, through automation and integration of its business processes.

Minister of National Security, Fitzgerald Hinds, said he was keen to see this collaboration come to fruition for the benefit of the vulnerable in Trinidad and Tobago.
