The Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) is working to restore power to several parts of North West Trinidad, which is still without power following the effects of the adverse weather conditions on Tuesday.
Some of the outages were caused by falling trees on power lines.
T&TEC on Wednesday said 11 crews worked tirelessly overnight to restore power to nearly 40 affected areas.
As restoration works continued, additional reports of outages emerged which required additional crews to be dispatched from T&TEC’s other Distribution Areas on Wednesday.
Parts of Barataria, Belmont, Blanchisseuse, Cascade, Chaguaramas, Diego Martin, Laventille, Maraval, Morvant, Paramin, San Juan, Santa Cruz, and St Ann’s are still without a supply.
T&TEC assured that all necessary resources are being deployed to ensure restoration is completed before the end of the day.
Adverse weather is forecast to continue affecting both islands until at least midday.
