Seven arrested for gambling, breach of curfew

Maloney Police in collaboration with the Guard and Emergency Branch (GEB) officers arrested seven men for gambling and breach of curfew yesterday evening.

The officers received information that men were assembled and gambling at Building15 Maloney Gardens.

The officers responded and arrested the seven during a sting exercise.

The men, aged 32-47, all of Maloney Gardens, were arrested for breaching curfew and gambling, while two of the seven were charged with resisting arrest.

While on this exercise, the officers also searched several abandoned apartments where eight rounds of nine millimetre ammunition were discovered in a metal box of the staircase of Building seven.

Charges in these arrests are expected.
