Seven arrested, firearm, vehicle recovered in police exercises

Seven persons were arrested, while a firearm and cocaine were seized and a stolen vehicle recovered during anti-crime exercises on Tuesday 14th November,2023.

Officers of the Southern Division Task Force targeted drug blocks and priority offenders during a series of crime eradication exercises yesterday. One man, 25, was arrested for Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, another was detained for Possession of an Offensive Weapon, while three other suspects were arrested for Possession of a Device.

Also, a 35-year-old man is expected to appear before a Magistrate today, to answer to the charge of Larceny. Police reports indicate that on Monday 13th November, a man walked into a business place on Cipero Street, San Fernando and took one pair of scissors and one 27.5-inch Hyper Bear Mountain Bicycle valued at $2000, then rode off. The swift response from offices resulted in the arrest of the suspect shortly thereafter.

In exercises held in Eastern Division officers found a firearm while conducting a search in the vicinity of Quarry Road, Valencia.

Meanwhile in the Northern Central Division, Cpl Baseanoo, PC De Four and WPC Singh, acted on information and proceeded to St. Michaels Road, Tacarigua, where they recovered a silver Mazda Familia vehicle parked along the road. The car vehicle was reported stolen on October 12th, 2023.
