Search on for mentally-ill female arsonist

Police are searching for a mentally ill woman, who is said to have burnt down a house and a clothing store in the borough of Point Fortin.

The first fire occurred on Sunday at Handel Street, Mahaica.
The house, police said, was abandoned but was the childhood home of former Point Fortin Borough Council alderman Leslie Chang Fong. He had planned to demolish and rebuild it.

A police report said the second fire was at the Fashion TT clothing store at Market Street, Point Fortin on Monday. The two-story building was destroyed.

On both occasions, eyewitnesses saw the woman running from the scene of the fire.
