The Trinidad and Tobago Scrap Iron Dealers Association is happy the Government has made good on its promise to bring the Scrap Metal Act to the Parliament.
Attorney General Reginald Armour l indicated the bill will be laid in the Parliament on December 14th.
In a media release on Friday, the Association said it has been a long, devastating period for its members and the thousands of men and women who were severely impacted by the six-month ban on scrap metal exports.
TTSIDA said it is anxiously awaiting the debate on the new legislation and is urging the government to ensure that once it is passed in the Parliament, the Bill is proclaimed in the shortest possible time.
