A shooting in Arima on Monday has claimed the life of a 36-year-old woman and injured three of her friends.
Around 1.45 am on Monday, Elizabeth Watson, of Upper Hoyte Avenue, Maturita, Arima, was liming with friends at a house at Punette Avenue, Pinto Road, Arima, when they were suddenly approached by two men dressed in black.
The suspects opened fire on the group before running away through a track.
Watson was hit several times and was pronounced dead shortly after being rushed to hospital.
Tamika Abraham, 27, and her 25-year-old neighbour, Andu Wellington, both of Punette Avenue, Pinto Road, were also shot several times, while 19-year-old Wallerfield resident Shaquille Hazel was shot in his back and foot.
They are warded in a stable condition.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators collected 21 spent 9 mm shells on the scene of the shooting.
