Russia Announces Success in Developing COVID Vaccine

The Russian Ministry announced on Monday that it had “successfully” completed the phase of clinical trials of a vaccine against covid-19 that were carried out in conjunction with the National Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology Gamaleya.

“On the morning of July 20th, the second group of volunteers was discharged, “said the Ministry of Defense in a statement referring to the fact that the clinical tests were carried out at Burdenko Central Military Hospital, Moscow.

The same note indicates that “the results of the analyzes show unequivocally that all volunteers developed an immune response as a result of the vaccine”.

The vaccine did not cause “complications” or “unwanted reactions”

The volunteers were vaccinated on the 23rd of June and on the 4th of August they will undergo a series of new control tests to confirm the results and the safety of the vaccine.

The Ministry of Defense stressed that the clinical tests of the vaccine were carried out “in accordance with the scientific methodology and the legislation in force, without shortening the investigation deadlines so that subsequent risks are avoided”.

In Russia 12,300 people died of covid-19 and 777,000 cases of infection were registered
