Rowley and Young in Guyana for Energy Conference and Expo

Finance Minister Colm Imbert is currently acting as Prime Minister after Dr Keith Rowley travelled to Guyana on Sunday to participate in Guyana’s 2024 Energy Conference and Supply Expo.

The Conference begins today, Monday.
Dr Rowley is expected to deliver an address at the opening ceremony.

The event, themed “Fuelling Transformation and Modernisation”, is aimed at fosterin the exchange of innovative ideas, proposals, and strategies for substantial advancements within the energy sector.

Minister of Energy and Energy Industries, Stuart Young, also made the trip with the Prime Minister to the conference.

While in Guyana, the Prime Minister will also attend the 46th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).

Regional leaders will focus on several issues including the CARICOM Single Market and Economy, Food and Nutrition Security, Climate Resilience, Energy Security and Regional Security.

The Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, Dr Amery Browne will join Dr Rowley at the CARICOM meeting.
