RIC To Review TATEC’s Damaged Appliance Policy

The Regulated Industries Commission will review the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission’s damage appliance policy.

The update was given by RIC’s Deputy Executive Director, Carol Balkaran, in response to a question posed by a reporter during a news briefing held at the Hilton Trinidad on Thursday.

It was revealed this issue came up several times during the consultation process held by the RIC.

Ms Balkaran said over the price review period the damaged appliance policy will be revisited.

This policy outlines the steps TATEC is required to follow whether or not it remains fit for purpose.

The senior RIC official said there is also a guaranteed standard for voltage fluctuations.

Ms Balkaran said there are two forms of redress that currently exists for affected individuals.
