Rehabilitation Works Taking Place On North Coast Road

Ongoing road rehabilitation and slope stabilization works are taking place along the North Coast Road.

At the 10.3km mark, several projects are underway including the construction of kerb (stone edging) and slipper, installation of Jersey Barriers and reconstruction of the roadway.

The Minsitry of  Works and Transport says in progress is the construction of a 28 metre long crib lock retaining wall-which is a gravity retaining structure to combat slope failure.

It says also underway are drainage works from the pillars to Maracas Bay, where box drains were installed to assist with the channeling of the water from the slopes and roadway to the necessary outfalls.

Motorists are being asked to proceed with caution as they make their way to and from Maracas Beach and its environs.
