Approximately 32 prisoners in four cells are currently protesting at the Maximum Security Prison in Arouca.
Commissioner of Prisons Dennis Pulchan, in a TTT report this morning, said that the prisoners have lit their mattresses on fire after they were moved from other prisons to MSP. He said the situation is under control and they are currently in the dialogue stage with the inmates.
He confirmed that the TTPS has been informed of the situation, but assured that the prison officers have the situation under control.
