30 homeless after fire destroys 3 separate homes in Marabella

Approximately 30 people have been left homeless after a fire destroyed eight apartments that were in three buildings in Marabella on Thursday morning,

The blaze began shortly after midnight, at one of the apartment buildings on John Street, Marabella.

The fire also destroyed the upper floor of a four-apartment house, in which there were at least 15 tenants, including Venezuelan nationals.

No one was injured, but the tenants said they lost all of their belongings.

One man who rears and sells birds for a living lost all his animals in the fire.

While the cause of the fire is still being investigated, he believes it was electrical.
