Investigation launched into missing drugs from St James hospital dispensary

An investigation has been launched into the disappearance of several drugs from the dispensary of the St James Medical Complex.

According to a release from the North West Regional Health Authority (NWRHA), the missing drugs included those used to treat cancer along with other pharmaceuticals.

The list of items include the following drugs:
Succinylcholine
Bevacizumab 100mg
Bevacizumab 400mg
Bleomycin
Cetuximab
Traztuzumab 440
Traztuzumab 600 mg
TociIizumab
Docetaxel
Cyclophosphamide 1gm
Insulin
Oxytocin
Rituximab 400mg
Fulvestrant
Epirubacin

The NWRHA advised the public to be on high alert and to contact the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service or the Authority directly at 493-1838, should anyone try to solicit sales for the above mentioned drugs.

The NWRHA said the batch numbers for these items will be provided in a subsequent advisory.
